The commission announced that the online portal for applications will be open on September 14th at 8am and close on December 14th at 8pm in a letter to all resident electoral commissioners (RECs) that was signed by A.T. Yusuf, INEC acting secretary.

In light of the foregoing, the Commission has mandated that all interested candidates—aside from collation/returning officers—register on the INECPRES in order to be eligible for selection and deployment as ad hoc personnel for the general elections in 2023.
A few examples of ad hoc staff are supervising presiding officers, presiding officers, assistant presiding officers, registration area technicians, and registration area center managers. The letter states, “The Commission has approved the use of INECPRES and its reactivation for interested applicants who seek to serve as ad-hoc workers for the 2023 general elections.
It is crucial that the administration secs/HOD EOPs/EOs & AEOs under the leadership of the RECs begin to engage/sensitize the authorities of Federal, State Tertiary Institutions, and the NYSC offices (state/government levels) in order to attain the required number of ad-hoc employees per states.
